Ben Burr-Kirven, SHP class of 2015 and SHP football legend, made his mark at the NFL combine on Sunday, March 3rd. Ben left scouts questioning their doubts about his size and ability to be an NFL linebacker with impressive results. In many ways Burr-Kirven embodies the new, faster NFL linebacker. He also screams special teams to many NFL teams lacking in that regard. Ben recorded a 4.56 second 40 yard dash time, which was 6th among linebackers in the combine. He also recorded 21 bench press reps, a 34.5 inch vertical jump, and a 121 inch broad jump. He was first among linebackers in the 3 cone drill, with a time of 6.85 seconds. The performance undoubtedly helped his draft stock, and scouts, particularly of the Seattle Seahawks, took notice. The possibility of staying in Washington is a very real scenario should he be selected by the Seahawks. Burr-Kirven is currently a projected day 2 pick in the draft, with the possibility of a drop or higher selection.
