On Friday, the SHP Gators took down the Aragon Dons, 34-16. Star sophmore quarterback Raymond Price provided 157 passing yards, including a 56 yard touchdown to junior team captain Tevita Moimoi. In the last five minutes of the first quarter, John Willard ran for a 64 yard touchdown and Tommy Barnds also had a 66 yard rushing TD, the latter coming off of a fumble recovery from J.P. Frimel, giving the Gators a 22-0 advantage entering the second quarter. They would score one more touchdown from Tevita Moimoi before entering halftime leading 29-0. The Dons would score twice in the third quarter, setting up a comfortable 4th quarter for SHP with a 29-14 lead. Raymond Price would throw for one more 25 yard touchdown to Dante Cacchoine, and the Gators went on to win and improve to 6-0 on the season. Looking ahead, they have an away game against Half Moon Bay, Friday, October 12th, at 7:30 PM. The JV football team also dominated Aragon this past weekend, scoring over 20 points in the first quarter. After that it was easy money for the JV gators who would go on to win with a final score of 42-15. JV gators football is proving to hold a strong presence in their league after a 5-1 start to the season, following in the footsteps of Varsity.
