Gator Football Slams San Mateo; Looking Forward to Restful Bye Week

This past Saturday, the SHP varsity football team destroyed the San Mateo Bearcats, 44-0, improving to a 5-0 record on the season. SHP ’20 Tevita Moimois was a driving force for the Gators with two rushing touchdowns, coming in the second and third quarters. Sophmore quarterback Raymond Price provided the first score of the game on a 7 yard run. Tommy Barnds (with 45 seconds remaining in the first half) and Joseph Hill also both ran for TDs. Defensive end Jack Kirkham (SHP ’19) pulled off a strip at the start of the third quarter, and brought it 20 yards to the Gators end zone. Junior Ronan Donnelly converted 5/5 PAT opportunites and nailed down a 34 yard field goal for the first play of the second quarter. Looking ahead, the Gators have a bye this week, and play at home Friday, Oct. 5th against Aragon at 3:30.
