Last friday the SHP swim team swam against Archbishop Mitty in a very tough meet. The Mitty girls team is usually one of the top teams at CCS, so it was a very close meet. The JV girls lost 50.5 to 119.5, the JV boys won 105 to 65, the varsity girls won 86 to 84 and the varsity boys won 119 to 51. It was an all around great meet for the team, with several swimmers already qualifying for CCS championships with very fast times. For the girls, Megan Ross qualified in the 200 and 500 freestyle, Matte Snow qualified in the 50 and 100 freestyle, Gaby Ma qualified in the 200 Individual Medely and the 100 breaststroke, and Corrine Charlton qualified in the 500 freestyle. For the boys, Luke Rohlen and Larsen Weigle qualified in the 50 and 100 freestyle, and CJ Box qualified in the 500 freestyle. The varsity girls were down by 4 points heading into the final race of the meet, and they needed to get first and third place to secure a win. They did exactly that, thanks to Matte Snow having a very fast third leg. This was the first time we have ever beaten Mitty girls in school history, so it was a big win.
